Google 將為企業提供網路安全服務

昨天 (5/8)，Google 宣布將為企業提供網路安全的服務，這個新產品叫 Google Web Security™ 。據說，它將提供即時的病毒防護、URL filtering，即使用戶沒有在公司裡，抱著 laptop 在外頭工作，一樣可以被保護。請見：Google Apps extends protection to web surfing and remote workers。

不過目前為止，我還在研究這個東西是要如何 deploy、如何保護企業與 remote users。難道是一個大 Proxy？還是 Great Firewall？如果可以不安裝 agent 而能夠 direct remote user's traffic 給 Google 來掃，真的太厲害！不解，繼續爬文研究中。

自從 Google 買下 Postini， 大家就在預測 Google 會不會進入 Security 的領域。果不其然，不到一年，Email Security 和 Web Security 都有了。SaaS 的競爭程度，果真比一般軟體還要高哇！
